No. 180 / Week 3 '18 reflection

The highlight of the week was going on a walk by the river with one of my good buddies. Thankfully, we got in a long walk before the snow storm blew through the state. We just walked and talked. I don’t even remember what we talked about, but it was nice to catch up and hear that things are going well. He has been a great friend and mentor. It made me think about the people in my life. I am so grateful for the mentors that have had a positive influence on me. They have made me into the person I am today. I think that’s one of the most important things that contribute to success and fulfillment—is friends—people who have your back, who are there for you. People who can tell you-you’re doing well, or you’re being crazy. It’s kind of what life’s all about.

I’ve had a lot of good conversations with family and friends this week. It’s something I need to do more of—just call people and be interested in them. Learning to have conversations is a critical skill to develop, to land a job, to do well at your job, to make a difference, to have successful relationships, etc. So why not practice every chance you get?

Crucial conversations: that’s been the theme of the week. They can make all the difference.
