Week 19 '19 reflection

It’s interesting, when I talk to people from New York who were born and raised here, they are always so surprised that I would move here from Utah! Many of them want to get out and live somewhere new - usually on the west coast. When I flew to Montreal this past week, I met a few new people and told them I was living in NYC and they expressed how much they would love to live there for a time. Hannah and I have lived here for over a year now and we talk about where we want to live next. The grass is always greener, I guess…

My favorite part of the week has always been my long walks with Hannah to the park and back. We always talk about deep things like our futures, spirituality, our relationship, and work topics, but we also try not to take ourselves so seriously. That’s something that’s taken some time to learn. Life can be challenging and tiring and stressors can get in the way of enjoying what life’s about. We make big decisions and place a ton of pressure on them. None of us really know what we are doing. We’re all just figuring it out. Everyone’s going to make mistakes so have fun with it.

It’s good to be back in the city. We like it here. We probably won’t be here long term - who knows where we’ll end up. But, for the time being, we’re here.
