Slow Down, Move Faster

Slow Down, Move Faster

Read things out loud. Take a day to “sit on it.” Set follow up appointments and meetings. Slow down and pause every now and then. Be okay with silence. Talk things through with your mentors and network. There is no shame is asking for help on something and waiting for a response. In fact, if you aren’t, then you’re probably doing it wrong.

This may seem counterintuitive, but if you want to move fast, fail fast, and get to where you want to go fast - slow down. When we slow down we then function in “passive” mode where thoughts can freely come and go and we are more mindful of what is happening around us. That’s a different state of mind than always being in “active” mode.

You need to be both passive and active to move fast. The catch is, one requires you to slow down a bit. It’s up to you to find the balance.
