On Purpose

When it comes down to it, we are all artists. This doesn’t necessarily mean we will all go out and write a best seller or paint a masterpiece, it means we all have something unique to contribute.

I think that’s what Leo Tolstoy is getting at when he talks about the art we create. When he refers to art, he is not talking about defining beauty. Beauty is a perspective, a point of view. He is talking about the contribution we are making, the impact we are creating, and the change we are facilitating

The purpose of art is to connect and unify people. Art, at its core, is the transition of feeling. How do you make people feel? How do you want to make people feel?

These are the type of questions that should drive you to find your purpose. Find out what kind of art you want to create, why you want to create it, and how you want people to feel because of it, then you will find your purpose.

What is your art?

There is your purpose.
