No. 185 / KISS

We overthink things. It doesn't have to be that complicated. The problem is, simple isn't easy.

Consider writing a book about a topic you are knowledgeable on. The concept probably makes perfect sense in your mind—to you, it's simple—but breaking it down into easy-to-understand ideas is hard. And actually writing it is even harder. It's like navigating a beautiful website. It's simple. You know where everything is and it seems so intuitive. But designing simple is hard.

Keeping it simple is harder than it looks. If something appears simple, like a 5-year-old could create it, it was actually probably extremely difficult to craft.

If you are trying to keep it simple, you are not stupid, but you may be stupid for not trying.
