No. 225 / Ideas and habits

New ideas shape the future.

Same goes for new habits.

However, ideas change. They improve. They expand. They develop.

Same goes for habits.

Which is why we must be willing to let go of them at any given moment. If we can prove to ourselves that we can walk away from these ideas and habits—we're demonstrating our desire and our ability to grow.

C.S. Lewis once said: "Don’t let your happiness depend on something you may lose."

Things, ideas, habits, even people come and go. Passions change. We don't need to hold on to things 'just in case.'

Instead, pursue purpose. Live your mission. Then, as the world around you changes, you will still be left with something meaningful—a better version of yourself.
