The best organizations are the ones that allow people to respectfully speak their minds and challenge the way they've always done things. They allow their people to try different things and fail at them, then try again until they get it right.
Then there are some organizations that confuse loyalty with speaking up. They would rather a silent culture than an engaged culture in the name of loyalty.
The same could be said for how we treat people. Do we get offended and defensive when people disagree? Would we rather people not say anything, and feel good about ourselves, all the while we continue to do things that are to our own demise?
The silent loyal maybe aren't so loyal after all. They could just be scared.
