Buy me v. live with me



The 5 p's got us loud marketing. Ugly Ajax cleaners and bright, flashy billboards. Spamming emails and telemarketers. Throw it in your face until you just buy it, already.

This is "buy me marketing."

It's a louder bell and a shinier whistle. It assumes that consumers are ill-informed.

It doesn't believe in white space

It makes promises and usually disappoints. 

And, it makes you want to hide it under the sink.

This is "live with me marketing."

But the secret to this kind of marketing is no secret at all. It's about creating a product that people not only want to buy and tolerate having, but enjoy displaying. 

First, create something people will actually want to buy.

Second, preferably make something people will use at least twice a day. 

Third, if you're going to create something people use so often, why not make it beautiful?
